Sea change - by Jane Verburg, 2½ years in Cromarty Do you know what it’s like to live with the sea in your hair, inside your head, knitted into your sleep? Its noiselessness, noisiness, tied to your fingertips, its seaweed rolled in strandlines strung to your toes, its thumbprint pebbles caught in the curve of your turn, its sea glass in your pockets, its curlews lifting in wide ribbons wrapped in the palm of your hand. Do you? Do you? I do. « Back to full list of poems Comments about Sea changeWhat a thrill to find this - can you email me back ? I am wondering if I can set some to music - I have a commission for songs and looking for text..your very impressed cousin jana x with a new email address at the house in suffolk.
Added by jana rowland on 13/01/2010 It is amazing how this lovely poem has touched so many people-me included. I read it in Coast magazine and have used lines of it within my paintings, it really touches the soul. As someone in Canada put 'you wrap it up so beautifully'
Added by PJ on 05/02/2010 Love the poem and want to base a shoot on it, could you please e-mail to get your permission to print it.

Added by Fiona Pratley on 16/09/2008 Thank you for these lovely comments. I am really happy because the magazine, 'Coast' has a piece based on this poem in the October issue.
Added by Jane Verburg on 19/09/2008 I love this poem and am just about to paint it on the walls of my spare bedroom, with a panoramic view of Torbay through the window beyond - thankyou! I am a mad keen seaglass collector so love that bit best.
Added by Ju Lewis on 11/10/2008 I just saw your poem in Coast and love it too! I live by the sea as well (in eastern Canada) and you wrap it all up so beautifully. Thank-you.
