CROMARTY, living by the sea

Acknowledgements

As incomers ourselves, though with 65 years between us in Cromarty, the Project Team (Fran Tilbrook, Martin Gostwick and David Ross) would like to thank the people of Cromarty for enthusiastically supporting this project and for contributing to it in so many ways. It has been a privilege to put this collection together.

Our thanks go to the Heritage Lottery Fund, Highland 2007 and The Cromarty Trust, without whose financial support nothing would have been possible. We are very grateful to our voluntary Feedback Group: Wanda Mackay, Catriona Gillies, May Hunter, Archie Mactaggart, Fraser Thomson and Chris Faulds for their enthusiasm, helpful advice and useful input to the whole project. Thanks to Joel Mason Houck for timely advice and encouragement, to John McNaught for his assistance; to Miss Rose and the staff of Cromarty Primary School for their willing support; also to the small panel from outwith Cromarty who selected the children’s work included here from homework set throughout the school. Thanks to Calum Davidson and the other photographers for taking or providing so many excellent photos. We’re also grateful to staff and volunteers of the WEA (Workers Educational Association), in particular to Hilary Lawson, Doraine Patience and Ann MacInnes for advice and practical assistance; to Professor Ian Russell, Director of the Elphinstone Institute, University of Aberdeen, for guidance and encouragement and to Sheena Paterson, Community Librarian, Fortrose. Finally, thanks to Dougie Gibson of Its All Good for all his help with the book's design (see menu) and to the wonderful team at Plexus Media, here in Cromarty, for their patient help and technical wizardry in making this website a reality.

We recently stayed at Balblair and saw a copy of Cromarty Living By the Sea. Is it still possible to purchase a copy?
